Just swapped from 3.8 to 3.6 pulley... how much play should be in the belt?
As the title says?

I did not have any. Are you using a new belt?

No, I am using the same belt. I am just not sure how tight I should adjust the tenssioner. Right now I have abouklt a 1/2 inch play each way. Is that too much?

I think you are supposed to use a new belt when pulleying down even if y ou are staying with the same size belt. I didn't mess with the tensioner. It was really easy. I did not even have to take the intake tube off.
Do you mean you have 1/2 play with the tensioner turned?

Move your idler pulley over as far as you can. Getting a new belt is also a good investment. Throw your old one in the trunk for a spare.

Wow i didn't know you were still at 3.8.
But as others stated, get a new belt. I have the 3.4 so can't help you with the size needed. Good luck!

The tensioner should be right in the middle of the stops,
As stated you need to resize the belt when changing the pulley size. And if your size is still good buy a new belt Cheap Inc. You would be surprised how much that tensioner jumps back and forth Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Ya... finally made the switch. I decided after going on the dyno I am going to go with the 3.4 now. Do you have a belt number for that size pulley?

I had the Gates K061031 belt. Tight to put on but stretches out perfect.
