1LEs major flaw?

I attended my first autocross event yesterday. My car is a DD and I've taken it to the drag strip numerous times and even raced in wannagofast 1/2 mile event. Well AutoX is much more fun.

Anyways I'm curious to hear opinions on what you think the most major flaw in a performance aspect for the 1LE.

What I think is the biggest fail/flaw for this car is the seats. I found myself having to push my left knee into the door to stay in place.....And now my knee hurts it being the next day.

Do you have the Recaro's seats? I did find these from the Road Course/Auto X Sub Forum.

Pull your seat belt tighter. Same thing happened to me

1LEs biggest flaw, M6... oh wait, after 35 years of shifting and now too old and too much rush hour traffic - that is my flaw HAHA.

Your got one of the best cars GM has ever put out. You could always look into a 5 pt harness.

Enjoy that beast!

The only flaw I can think of, would be that the car could have used a slight bump in power.

465 HP out of the factory would have been much better. Bet most people that have traded theirs in, would have kept them, had they had a bit more power.

Not that it is not easy to make that power with minor mods, but would have been nicer having that as the baseline / starting point.

The seat situation is fixed with a good 4/5-point harness and frankly, very very few cars out there have excellent stock seats. The minute you start picking up serious speed, seats with stock belts become an issue.

For me, the weight is the biggest issue. A car this heavy chews through pads and tires and boils fluid too easily.

Recaros were only an option for 14-15. If they were an option for 13 I surely would have them.

The angle wings definitely seem interesting. I've been keeping an eye out for Recaros on the classified section but I want 2SS Recaros seats.

I couldn't get my belt to lock. It would lock up for a second and then release.

I rode along with a driving instructor from Boca Raton that has a nasty S2000CR. He had the fastest run of the day. He helped a lot and gave me a few pointers. Also told me about the belt locking trick but it wouldn't stay locked.

Agreed with that.

Find recaros or another race seat. I could be wrong but I think the recaros are the same regardless of 1ss or 2ss. I have recaros in mine and my first auto-x and track day were done with just the stock belt and I barely slid at all. Now I'm running a 6pt harness. My biggest complaint is the lack of cooling. Oil gets real hot real quick. But I am in the process of fixing that.

A lot of people say the same thing when they autocross the car..door is killing my knee. I have Recaros and they are too heavy fyi..also wont solve issue..like these guys said you can try a harness. Maybe add some foam where your knee hits door?

It would have been sweet if they came from the factory with coil overs on the 1LE.

Seat wise it's the same but 2SS seats are heated and power.

Yes I use my heated seats in FL.

My 1ss are power both driver and passenger. But they aren't heated. Heated seats are nice

Bump in power. 460hp would have been nice. Besides that, weight is the obvious flaw. Putting dot 3 brake fluid that boils easy as hell was also a stupid idea.

Heated seats in a car with G2 tires you can't drive when its cold would be a waste . More power is what the 1LE needs.
