Spider in my shoe
Yesterday I saw a hornets nest out hanging on one of the trees & I thought I better go take care of it before my husband wakes up & walks out side & gets stung. So I grab a pair of my shoes & slip them on, walk out side & I start feeling something moving in my shoe. I rip off my shoe & pound the heal in to the ground & out comes a spider as big as a quarter (of course I killed it)

Sheesh. You live in a wooded area, don't you?
I used to live in the east bay in a heavily forested area at the base of Mount Diablo, and I checked my shoes everytime I put them on for scorpions/spiders. Never found any, but I was always cautious about it. Glad you weren't but by somethin. Did you take care of the hornet's nest? |

Probably. I recommend clearing any people from the target area. It's used daily by people in the roofing/siding/gutter/window business, as you almost always find a huge wasp or hornet nest in nearly any soffit you open up.
The other day I found a nest in my dog's fenced in "toilet" area. I soaked the nest with the spray from 20 feet back, killing lots of them but angering a few; then I vaporized it with my huge torch hooked up to my grill propane tank: That's the same torch I used for heating a pizza stone to 1000° with a buddy who's constantly experimenting with creative ways to make pizzeria-style pizza at home... We also melted his gas grill (1/4" thick aluminum) by trying cooking steaks on it with the torch...destruction is cool. :seesaw:
