Because of the new tailshaft the shifter is in a different spot then stock location. Im now subscribed. Please pm me where to get this trans

This...

There are two reasons... The bell housing and intermediate plate, and then the tail shaft housing...

Like was mentioned before, the entire shifter mechanism is internal to the tail shaft housing... This is an option... you can get this trans without the extended tail shaft housing, but then the trans is mounted the same way as the factory unit, and the shifter mechanism is subject to the torque stresses of the motor... Primarily where the back end of the shifter bolt to the trans tunnel.

Think of this shifter as a floating unit sitting on top of the trans tail shaft housing... It is not attached to the car trans tunnel in any form or fashion... the closest thing to a connection is the shifter boot...

Yup... I'm predicting there will be quite a few 9's, and maybe one or two 8's if cars stay healthy...

R-

Glad to see that you went with RSG. Have known those guys for a while and Chris and I were talking with them at PRI (the Firebird is still a manual so been down the road you are traveling).

They also use carbon fiber synchros which makes a huge difference in high HP shifting capacity so between that, the 9310 everywhere and the tail piece, you will be ready to rumble !!!

Those guys know their $#!& (stuff)

Thanks for stopping in B,

Yes, it's the corvette style triple cone synchros of carbon fiber... In looking at their site and the customer reviews, I am at the right place...

That having been said, there are a couple of other builders out there that were a lot of help along the way....

Contrary to my previous statement, this is a TR6060 Trans...

It was confirmed that with the extended tail shaft housing, all of the shafts are 9310 material, and sixth gear is the only one that isn't 9310... 1st through 5th are 9310 gears...

The Gearing is a little different than stock...

1st Gear 2.66
2nd Gear 1.78
3rd Gear 1.30
4th Gear 1.0
5th Gear .84
6th Gear .63

The ratios below are the Factory gears...

1st: 3.01
2nd: 2.07
3rd: 1.43
4th: 1.00
5th: 0.84
6th: 0.57
Love the new gear ratios, well 6th is less than 5th lol, probaly .65..going to be tuffer on the clutch but i like it

SSE 4 2SS Edit: Corrected gear ratios for the trans...

Ok, I'm getting ahold of George to correct the sixth gear ratio...
It was a bad connection on the rig...
