Question How Many More Miles Can I Get Out Of These PZeros

I have the stock Pirellis that come on the SS and my car had 14,037 miles on it I don't go to the drag strip or anything. These are the rears. How much do you think I've got left? I have inspection coming real soon and I don't know if they would fail me because of this it looks really low? The tires I want are out of stock now so I can't buy tires yet. The inside has more tread than the outside I'm guessing that's normal.

Looks like it's time for some new ones; might get a few more miles out of them. I got just over 15K on mine before replacing them; but probably should have been replaced a little sooner.

invest in one of those tread pins... theyre really cheap and will let you know the real numbers. Those have a couple grand left in them for sure.

Almost time for replacement.......put them beside the new tires your installing at the tire shop to see how worn out they are. I was shocked when i did this.

Useful tread left is the key (my guess is another 1k-2k miles till bald). When my rears got close to replacing the car was a little loose around the corners and crazy in the rain. You're doing better than me though I only got 10k out of my rears (no burnouts).

Mostly worried about passing the inspection I want new rims but gotta wait for the BFG 305s g-force comp 2 A/S to be back in stock the lady said they start production in 2nd week of July but those are already sold out and she doesn't know when the next production cycle is. Any ideas?

I've never heard of cars not passing inspection due to low tread. If you had belts showing yeah maybe. I think you'll be fine but I do live in the desert.

Mine looked like that at 16k. I replaced them with Nittos and sold the PZeros to a club member who put about 5k more miles on them.

They're done. Anything below 5/32's is getting close to the danger zone. Those appear to be around 3/32's but you'll have to measure to be sure. Increased risk of hydroplaning is the main reason to replace them.

You can hydroplane in less than an inch of water at speeds of 15-20mph, just FYI. The wider the tire the more tread depth you need. Just ask the corvette owner who spun out on the highway last week due to hydroplaning. His tires were almost new.

Some states will fail you for tread depth. Some don't even bother looking. It just depends on your state. South Carolina has no inspections at all (they used to, but said it was too expensive).
