I think my wife gets it... - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

After I bought my Camaro and brought it home, all my wife would say is "It's just a car, I just don't get it." That's fine, I would think to myself, you are not supposed to "get it." She also goes on to say that I better not try and race anyone, to which I reply "Honey, I am 45 years old, I think I am past that..."

Anyway fast forward a few weeks and my wife is driving home from a party with me in the passenger seat (no condition to drive) and a kid in a Mistubishi something-or-other pulls up next to us and starts revving his engine. Now we are sitting right in front of the entrance to the town's police station so I say to my wife something along the lines of "What an idiot..." Just then, the light turns green and my wife drops the hammer, lays some rubber and she proceeds to race this kid for about two miles leaving him in the dust. I just sit there and smile.

hahaha dude that's awesome. I'm glad she gets it. I've heard "it's just a car" way too many times, and I'm like "IT'S NOT JUST A CAR!!" I'm happy for you.

haha i get that all the time from my girlfriend "its just a car...", yet she loves to sit there and tell me all the people that look at the car, i think she gets a big kick out of it cuz she smiles everytime

Well, my wife definatly gets it... I wasn't planning on buying a new car anytime soon, but the wife said she wanted to go look at the new Camaro. After viewing it, she talked ME into ordering one (it wasn't hard). She's also got the camaro5 forum bug too. Amazing how that works!

LOL. That's what i think to myself all the time now and i don't even have the car yet. Wifey is already bugging me about HER being able to drive it to work and show it off. And i think to myself, "come on let me atleast get all the break-in miles done first, you can drive it in 6months when it has 5K miles on it"

To which she reads my mind and says.. "remember this is OUR car now"
