The only thing I don't like about them is the wheels. The wheels look like something that would be on a Camry.

I live in Naples FL year round. I see Corvettes all the time and a lot of C8's running around and at the few car shows there have been since Covid. I see them for sale a lot in Craigslist too. I got the bug and just bought a C6- traded my 2106 1LT Camaro for it. I cannot afford a C7 or a C8 but got as close as I could get with a C6.

I am sure you will find one to buy.

C6 is still a nice car and for the money they're a fast car still.

The nice thing about buying a used Vette down here is you will find most of them are low miles, under 35,000 miles since it's mostly older guys buying them and not driving them daily.

A c6 vette is still a huge upgrade from a 1LT. I'm sure you loved the big upgrade in power.

In 2 years once Covid is gone and production is normal you're going to find the 2020 C8 Corvettes are going to drop like a rock. Those stupid people with money to burn paying a 25k markup will look dumb.

I dunno, If you're rich and got the money to burn I would still buy a 2019 Z06 over a C8. Overally better design and looks like a Vette, not Ferrari like a C8.

My Uncle has a 1974 350 4 speed and a 2013 427 convertible 6 speed.

He's gonna go to his grave cussing GM out for not keeping a real manual transmission in the Corvette.

Even my Mom, who has a 2016 Stingray Z51 with the 8 speed auto, thinks it's crazy that a Corvette wouldn't have a real manual transmission.

There's no excuse. None. They really alienated 60 years of dedicated enthusiasts to appeal to the millenials who wouldn't know a tie rod from a cheeseburger.

The Corvette is officially a show car for rich pricks with zero car cred. GM sold out.

Wait at least another year, probably 2-3, before you can actually order a new C8 and get what you want, for a reasonable price, that will be built correctly to your specs and delivered within a couple months, and be reliable.

Right now it's way too much of a risk and headache with everything going on. Even if covid didn't happen, GM started with a brand new complete architecture for this car from scratch. That in and of itself poses 1st and 2nd year risks.

The only reason to buy one now is if you intend on never driving it, only polishing it.
There is so much wrong with this entire post that I don't think there's enough internet space for me to try and counter it.

Budget is a big factor but owning a really nice new car can be a headache too. Every tiny little blemish, scratch, abrasion etc stick out like a giant zit in the mirror.

I keep my Camaro as close to new as I can but at the same time... it's a Camaro. A little mud spatter by the fender or a bug stain on the windshield is OK till the next car wash.

True. We've had ours for a couple months, it's been perfect so far.

I mentioned this in another thread but yeah, it doesn't make sense for them to offer manual trans on Cadillac V-series but not the Corvette.

Besides, it's not hard to design a manual based on DCT. Porsche PDK and manual share 90% of the parts.

I own a C7 ZO6/ZO7 M7 Vette. The car is totally BadAss. Love the car more than any other car I've ever owned or driven.

I've been looking the the C8s and like them. Did a run one at the track, Speed Vegas. Handles amazing. Best car in the world for the $.

On the fence because I just don't get the driving experience I do with my manual C7.

My 2021 LT1 is M6. No autos for me. lol

Good luck - I had one on order for most of a year and then gave up.

The C8s are nice but I think you need to keep your C7! If you have developed that kind of a bond with that vehicle you'll need a knee and hip replacement after repeatedly kicking yourself in the ass after getting rid of it.
