I love those grill ducts Tom! I wanted some when I had the 2011. Looking forward to seeing the rest. Just to confirm, we are meeting at Best Buy in Coralville @ 7am on Thursday?

Well think I made a mistake. Hopefully not too costly and thankfully not with the camaro. But this weekend I did a transmission and filter change. I put in the new oil and ran it through the gears and checked the level and everything looked good. After driving it a couple of times I am noticing a slight metal on metal around 2 to 3 gear area. If I take it real slow I am not noticing it. After driving about 12 miles to work tonight I check the dip stick and see there is no oil on it. Having the wife bring me more tonight, but hoping there is no damage. Also appears that there is no oil leak either.

The trans fluid must filled with the engine idling and at temperature. How many quarts did you put in your car?

Thats what I am thinking too. The jug I put in was just shy of 5 qts. I was reading online that if I were to do a complete transmission overhaul then it would take a little over 8 qts to fill, but if its just removing he oil pan then it would be around 5 qts. I thought I put in the same amount as what came out.

Tim - DONE!!

Ryan, granted you only took 5 out you need to make sure the level is good while the engine is running. At that point the trans pump is turning and is filling the torque converter, which is about 2.5 quarts when full. Start the car and get it up to temp then check the trans fluid level and add as necessary. I'm sure you haven't done much or any damage. Although I'm not sure how it ran at all without enough fluid in it. Haha.

After adding the oil I turned the car on and got it up to runing temperature and then moved the gear selector through all the gears. As much as I would like to have a newer a vehicle I am hoping it won't be for another 3 years or so.

Hmm, how many miles in the car before you changed the fluid?

I will be heading about an hour earlier than you guys, I'm sure you'll catch me sometime, possibly in IL, where I think the speed limit for trailering is slower than cars .
