Bad News Today!

When my wife got home from her last deployment, we decided to order a new 2010 Camaro SS to have a little fun in because she deserves every bit of it. We waited a few months to order and finally did on May 8th. The car is moving way faster than expected which is fantastic. The bad news......my wife got the call this morning from her Captain that she will be leaving July 6th to deploy again for 6 months to a year. As if it is not bad enough she is leaving me again, we dont get to enjoy the Camaro process together. We had planned a big road trip and everything. Although we are very proud to be a military family and serve this great country, it is still sad for us. Thanks to all who serve, those that served, and their families. Im still excited for the car, but it is deflated a little for now until she comes back to me safe.

That's a great story. I'm sorry she will not be around to see it. More importantly, I can't believe you have already gotten an TPW date.

I ordered my 4 months ago (Feb 03.09) and still nothing. And I'm number 2 on the allociation list. This sucks !!

I couldnt believe we got one either. She wasnt due to leave until October so we were getting excited because it was looking like we would have it for a few months before she left.

God bless her. She'll come back soon enough for a nice romantic cruise for two!

I know how you feel...my wife came back from her deployment Nov 08 and would normally have an 18th month turn around that miraculously turned into a 10 month turn around and she leaves on or about her birthday. Hopefully she (Camaro SS/RS) will be here before she departs for the Gulf. Looks like she might make here before then, if not I will be sending many pics to her while she is at sea.

Sorry to hear that...thank you and your wife for serving this Great Country. Keep the Faith brother...

Sorry to hear that, but the LS engines really don't hit there sweet spot until they've been driven for a couple thousand miles. This way, when she gets back, you can have it broken in for her and she'll be able to tear it up immediately.

Lee - I'm truly sorry that you guys won't share in the experience of picking it up person together. But I'm sure you'll come up with a way of making sure she's part of the excitement, like Scotty said, pix and videos.
And by the way, we REALLY appreciate these sacrifices that the families and the service men and women have to go thru. In the end, its because of all of you we have the freedom to drive what we want, where we want, when we want.
Thanks and god bless. :flag2:
