Z/28 Crash: Stay safe in 2015!

Hope the folks involved heal quickly. I have no idea of the circumstances, but it's a good reminder to keep it safe on the street and leave your driving heroics for the track...

2014 Camaro Z/28 Involved In Nasty Wreck In Florida: Accident Watch
BY SAM MCEACHERN — DEC 30, 2014

When we drove the 2014 Camaro Z/28, we walked away thinking that interested customers better know what they’re doing before they buy one. The Z/28, with its insanely sticky Pirelli Trofeo R tires and functional aerodynamic elements, is a turn-key race car that isn’t trying to make any friends. It’s hardcore, unforgiving and most of all, very fast.

It’s a little unsurprising then, and very unfortunate, that someone recently had a pretty nasty crash in a 2014 Z/28. This photo comes to us from Camaro News, who says the Red Hot Z/28 was crashed in Winter Haven, Florida. Both occupants of the car survived, with one suffering a broken femur and the other being airlifted to hospital with unknown injuries.

Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free both passengers from the totaled track-day special, which is why its roof is peeled back like an opened can of soup. We’d like to echo Camaro News’ sentiments in reminding you to be careful out on the road, especially if you drive a 505 horsepower Camaro capable of lapping the Nurburgring faster than a Porsche 911 Turbo S.
