Nice vid. Not too surprised by the results. That Z is such a phenomenal performance machine there's no way the big Stang with "older" technology can keep up. I know there's a lot of haters here but after being around the Mustangs in the track environment I have developed quite a bit of respect for them. I'm not a Ford guy by any means but if I was I'd probably own one for "entertainment" purposes.

Yep, the Z06's performance is insane. That supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine is a beast, giving it crazy power and torque. And let's not forget the handling. This baby can hug corners like nobody's business)

However, I like how the Z06 also brings some serious entertainment value to the table. I imagine cruising down the highway with the top down, wind in my hair, and the engine roaring behind me. It's like being in my own action movie XD

And let me tell you, the Corvette Z06 knows how to turn heads. Its aggressive design makes it the star of the show wherever my brother goes (yup, he owns it). People are really snapping pictures and giving him the thumbs up. He's like being a celebrity on its wheels He likes to say all this entertainment doesn't have to break the bank (my brother means it doesn't cost so much for the pleasure it brings him).

Cheers,
Ansel

The Z06 is a 5.5-liter V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft engine. No boost.

Compared to a ZL1, hefty. Compared to the cars it actually competes with, straight up bargain. All a matter of perspective.

Turned out exactly as I expected. Maybe if they heated the tires or had a longer run, it would have been closer. The z06 is so impressive, especially for those with connections to dealers or GM for easy money flips. Biggest takeaway for me is what a shame that both aren’t available with a manual transmission.

The Z06 has the highest horsepower of any NA production V8 ever made at 670HP

Pretty impressive if you ask me

For the average working guy yes its unobtainium but this is geared toward the people who buy exotics for 2 or 3 times the price

While impressive what’s the benefit? I’d rather have it supercharged and making 800+. There are plenty of cars making 700+. The Shelby was running it down.

That's the issue I have with these new Corvettes. They were always the working man's sports car that were affordable and punched well above their class. Now they're just like any other exotic and GM is fine with that since they're all for the electric push.

I agree. You get what you pay for and with the Vette you're getting supercar performance at a reasonable price. If not for the interior and the lack of a manual transmission I would be taking a serious look at a Z06.

Which car crossed the finish line several car lengths ahead of the other? It wasn't even close. How much extra do you have to pay for a Z06 that spanks a Shelby 500 GT? Answer, not much.

I didn't see one of those in the video you posted. Might be fun to watch, but the McLaren is out of my price range. The Shelby and Z06 are not.
