IPS Oil return pump stopped working

I was sitting infront of my friends house just idling and my car started smoking like crazy so I shut it off right away and then turned the key a little to see if I can hear the pump because I can usually hear it... No oil pump sounds..
I've had so many problems with this kit first it took almost three months to get it, then when I got it a bunch of parts didn't fit right, so tune time had to custom make them which cost me a lot more money and more time for my car to just sit around waiting then another part that didn't fit had to be shipped by IPS and was supposed to be shipped over night but wasn't so that was another week of waiting and now this... I'm starting to wish I just got a whipple

The Exa is a beast of a pump.

When searching I never found a bad report about one. Lots of bad reports about pretty much every other pump out there though

Another vote for the Turbowerx EXA.... I blew up a turbo and scattered ball bearings and yes, they got into the scavenger pump...

Opened it up, at the racetrack... cleaned the balls bearings out and flushed it to ensure there were no metal chunks, put it back together and over a year later it's still spinning and grinning... I'll never run anything else...

what pump is the ips set up using ? I also run the IPS set up. Now I am wondering. I don't need a pump failure.

Post a picture of the pump.

Most kits ( all brands ) seem to use the cheaper pump, not the Exa. But couldnt say that for sure. Just any images Ive seen have all been the cheaper pump

This is the old pump, they told me they're sending me a pump and wiring harness and then I got it in the mail and all I got was a used pump..
This "new" pump only works when it wants too.. Randomly shuts off and is extremely loud, you can here it from 200 feet away probably. Louder then my engine/exhaust at idle and when I'm cruising at ~2000rpm I can still hear it

That sucks. Get IPS to help you out with a Turbowerx exa. They're about $399 or so.

I think the cheaper ones use straight gears, the Exa is helical, so are much quieter. Whether that's the cause of any noise or not I dont know.

The Exa on mine can be heard, but certainly not over the engine. Wouldnt really be any louder than most fuel pumps, but a much duller slower noise.
Plus the Exa can be mounted in any orientation

I think it's just that this pump is messed up, it's the same brand and model pump as the first one I had but this ones a lot louder. IPS is trying to tell me the wiring is what's cause the pump to not work and be so loud. At this point I just want them to I've me back the money paid for the pump and I'll get a different one, probably the turbo were that everyone is sayig they like
