I want a tune-up. What all should I ask for?

My 2012 LT just hit 90k miles and it's getting a bit sluggish. Nothing majorly concerning, just that I can feel the engine has some age to it, and I want a tune-up.

New fuel injectors and spark plugs seems obvious. What else should be done in a general "car is getting older" tune-up?

Tune-up is a pretty antiquated term nowadays. But I would get quotes from shops for doing a spark plug change, a walnut-blast intake cleaning, and changing out fluids (coolant, trans, diff, brake).

I wouldn't bother with new injectors or coils or anything unless they are actually failing.

Luckily I already did the transmission fluid a year or so ago at ~75k mi. I will look into coolant and intake cleaning.

Personally I like doing coils but I agree, injectors unnecessary. Transmission and coolant are also good suggestions. I'd say differential fluid also. Air filter (or clean if you have an intake), clean MAF sensor. Upper induction cleaning. Fuel system cleaner. (I like seafoam for both of those).

Intake and MAF cleaning.
New air and fuel filter.
Coil packs and plugs.
For sure clean injectors.

Eh these new coils are pretty stout. But they are easy and cheap enough if you are doing it yourself.

The biggest thing is going to be the upper-intake cleaning OP. These engines get dirty, and the DI DOHC design does not clean them out with normal driving like the older style engines.

Sluggish = upper induction cleaning asap!

Then, run a catch can after you get it done.

I don't know exactly what you mean by that, but I wouldn't say it's much different than when I got the car. Obviously I can't compare side by side with the original motor now, but it's not noticeably worse, no.

He probably means at idle. Usually, when you're stopped the engine is idling or at idle speed. That is, unless you are reving it up or something.

That's usually the root of all your problems. Bad coils, maf sensor, plugs, top engine issues, etc. Why I asked.
