I am using the p-brake launch technique from your video in the drag race forums. I think I already told you this, but I watched that video a bunch before I even knew who you were!!! lol A lot of what I've learned about this car and drag racing I learned from you. Thanks for all of the help!!

Thanks Chris!! It was a blast. I told my son to savor the flavor because we might not win another trophy all year.

Zach and I met a couple of cool dudes at our local track last Saturday. Roadkill is one of our favorite shows, so we were stoked to meet these guys in person. They brought the Draguar and it ran mid 12s at our track. I'm looking forward to seeing the episode in a few months.

They needed some air in the drag radials, so we donated a few PSI to the cause.

How cool is that!?!? I've been watching Roadkill since the beginning, definitely one of the best shows out there. They seem like really down to earth guys - very neat you got to meet them and lend a hand!

I truly love this whole thread. Your build is awesome and you've documented it all flawlessly. I had to go back and read the whole thing again when I saw your post yesterday. Cool deal meeting the Roadkill guys.

Also impressed with what a good driver you are becoming... taking the car to a 12.2 ET at 3500 DA is awesome. With some better air you are in the 11s all day.

Oh and update on my 15 year old... he made a deal with me and he'll be changing his own oil in his camaro this weekend. I'm still a ways off from convincing him to turn wrenches with me, but I'll take the small victory.

I've been a fan for a long time as well. David and Mike seemed totally down to earth from what I saw, and they seem to appreciate their fans. It was a very cool surprise, and Zach and I aren't going to forget it anytime soon!!

Thanks!! I appreciate the kind words. Cool that your son is going to be getting his hands dirty. Even if he hates it, he will be learning life skills that a lot of kids don't have the opportunity to learn.

I went out to the midnight drags tonight because I didn't have anything else to do and it was a very cool June evening which would be perfect for trying to set a new PB ET. The DA was "sea level" when I made my last pass, which is 2,700 ft at our track.

I let my buddy talk me into running lower than normal PSI in the rears. He had them at 15 PSI, which seemed to be way too low. I normally run the rears at 18 PSI (M/T Street R).
I also just increased my 2 step RPM to 5,600 immediately prior to this run. I'm not sure if it was the low tire pressure, or the increased launch RPM, but I spun the tires on the launch. Not my best 60', but I did run a new PB of 12.165 @ 116.59 mph. I'm still looking for that 11 second time slip.

Here is a link to the in-car video.

I'm already planning the next mod. I ordered 4.10s and some other goodies today so I will update this thread soon.
Love this thread! We are the same age, with the exact same car! I bought mine as a mid life crisis as well! It has 66,000 miles on it. Modding mine as much as my wallet will let me!

Very cool!! Thanks for reading the thread. If you ever have any questions about my build, don't hesitate to ask.

Shaved a little more time off my PB ET:

That was at 3,300 ft DA. I'm still looking for my 11 sec ET.

You're shaving time despite the air getting slower and slower where you are - you'll pop some 11s of this fall without a doubt. Keep dialing it in - looking really good.
