Any one paint their Heritage Grill with spray cans?
What products did you use?
What about preparation and adhesion promoter? Did you paint just the edges body color or did you paint the actual grill area black too? The plastic seems to be more gray than black. Any other helpful hints?

I'll be painting mine. Probably just going to use some Dopicolor plastic adhesion promoter, Dopicolor gloss black, and Dopicolor clear. The usual prepping work: 250 or 300 sanding, couple coats of promoter, then base and clear.

Do you already have one? You can get them prepainted from gmpartsdirect and a host of other vendors now. Think mine was less than $300.

Yes I have one already, couldnt afford to not buy it. I wasn't going to get one, but someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

My experience with spray can painting is it's inferior quality. I had mine painted by a shop for $135, and it came out perfect. The cheapest price rarely gets you the best result.

I have been pondering just that, so I will probably end up taking it to a shop.

They have injection mold release residue on them that makes paint adhesion difficult without removing with a solvent. Most of the painted ones I have seen were chipped. I like the contrast of the unpainted grille against my black so no paint for me. I did paint the radiator so you don't see that silver through the grille.
