What is the issue exactly? I bought the gauges and they came with the plug and play harness and plugged right in and worked perfectly.

I added them and missed the storage space for my phone but then found my phone fit perfectly wedged between the top of the gauges and bottom of the console. Smokes go in the front cup holder with a standard bic lighter wedged sideways to hold them in place.

What's with people who put their phone, cigarettes, wallet, etc in the storage part of their car. Don't you have pockets?

If you were going to light up a smoke in the car would you rather

(A) fiddle through your pocket trying to find your smokes and your lighter while simultaneously keeping the car at 65 and in your lane

or

(B) fish your smokes and lighter out of the cup holder where they are readily accessible?

I do not have the connectivity package so my phone doesn't synch up with the car. I hate trying to drive a stick, and then dig in my pocket for my phone when it is ringing. I don't smoke in the car so no need to go grabbing for the smokes and no need for them to bulge my pocket the whole time I am driving. I hate my wallet in my back pocket in the bolstered seats so it goes in the door panel as well.

I believe that was only on early 2010s. They didn't include part of the cable and you had to add it. Now, they all just come plug and play. I put the guage pack in my car and it just plugged right in and worked!

So you bought the gauges off someone who took it out of their car? or did you buy the GM accessory gauge pack?

I would choose (A) ... That's the way I always did it, in my shirt pocket.

I love these kinds of conversations. I do not have a camaro as yet
but I might as well check to see what all is going on.
Just giving my thoughts..
Shu71 nailed it. These gauge pods were designed from the first gen camaros.
Just a little note here. On first gen camaros the guages are a desirable option.
I high dollar option that is.
Keep in mind the concept camaro was to bring back a retro look of a first gen camaro such as the 69 camaro both inside and outside.

Now when I get my camaro it will have the guage pack. Idiot lights will get you in trouble every time. I wanna know what my engine and other drive components are doing at all times and I want numbers to reflect what they are doing.

I do not smoke. I probably will try not to eat or drink in my car. If I do decide to drink, that is what the cup holder is for. Passengers that smoke can either choose not to ride with me, or smoke outside the car when it is parked.
I carry an Iphone 4. I have a car mount docking station that I will use probably on the windshield or dash. My Iphone will be synced up with the USB port and blue tooth while I wont have to reach into a pocket to get my phone if it rings. I will simply have to push a button on the steering wheel or on my Iphone to take and answer calls all while I am listening to the Iphone 4's MP3 Player jambing out tunes in my camaro over the camaros stereo.
I think I covered everything.
But again, this is what I will do.

I love them and look at them frequently. It's a machine and I like knowing what is happening with it. Nice advance notice when something is not normal, learn to read them.
