Actually, the ZL1 is just as heavy as the SRT8 and the SS is only a couple hundred pounds lighter. Heck, even at 3500-3800 pounds the Mustang GT and GT500 are no lightweights......

I don't know. To me that just looks like a high rise manifold. I'm not seeing the crank or pulley on the front, just some type of connector.

I could see it very well taking on the ZL1. The platform is supposed to be redone with the goal of allowing the 8 speed auto to be used and to cut some weight out. I could easily see the SRT8 Supercharged being as light or even lighter than the ZL1. These cars are also supposed running even bigger Brembo brakes and i am sure a suspension to go along with it. This should be exciting. Also, per the artical, sources stated the goal is 700 HP, but guesses are more in the 600-650 range.

Allpars sources have said that the car will use the ZF HP90 automatic transmission, an eight-speed capable of around 650 lb-ft of torque. That sets an upper limit on the 6.2s power output; horsepower is undetermined, with our sources still saying that Chrysler is shooting for 700, and our conservative, jaundiced view suggesting it will most likely be in the 600-650 hp range
