yes i forgot to mention that in both the 12.12 and 11.87 runs, i ran without mufflers. the MBRP catback mufflers for 5th gens conveniently unbolt right after the differential. never though about running open headers to be honest

Nice. Weight is weight right? Good times though, what are you running these days?

114mph.

Also, had front passenger seat removed and no air compressor in the trunk. just over 1 gallon of gas in the tank. Michelin pilot sport rear tires. factory size. factory wheels all the way around.

Believe it or not, the MBRP aftermarket catback served as a weight reduction. The stock catback is heavey as hell

my 11.87 pass had a lot to do with the 26" tire diameter and the light ass wheels my friend let me use. Bogarts. 17x5 fronts and 17x10 rears. WAYYYYY lighter than the factory 20" wheel.
The weight helps, and I'm sure the Michelin's hook better than stock Pirelli's do - it's still an impressive accomplishment. Had to be a like a 1.8x 60' or better. MPH looks right on.

It's amazing the different approaches to making these cars fast, you can add power, you can take weight out, you can up your traction game. Combine all three and they move really well. I think a light set of a 26" tall wheel/tire package is one of the next things on my list.

And sorry for the thread-jack SS Performance - get a few boys that really like drag racing talking, especially in the winter when we can't actually go out and play, and we'll add pages a day to a thread!

yes on wheels and tires, yes. best 60' was 1.7 (the 11 second pass was 1.8 though) went 12.05 the first past with the tires. (left at 2800rpms). 2nd time left @3000 and went 12.00. Last pass i left at 3700, rolled out of the clutch easy and i felt it right away that it had to be an 11 second pass

As far as subframe bushings, im gonna go with detroit speed engineering. i like the one peice design, i like that they have the largest contact area (compared to other solid bushing manufacturers) where the body sits, and also that they press into the subframe. The fact that the price is now $500 (only $100 more than pegasus) sold me. They used to be aroun $750 a few years back

Oh completely, absolutely threadjacked shamelessly haha

Hey, did you ever find a way to use to press in those bushings? I totally know where you're coming from on the contact patch with the chassis though.

Im just gonna take it to the shop out here that did my diff swap and bmr bushing, trailing arms and toe links and let them deal with it.

I did come up with an "install tool" that i pieced together for $20. See the image

(2) steel plates
(1) hex bolt
(1) hex nut
(1) 4" deep sleeve that i was gonna buy once the bushings arrived. (needed the largest outer diameter of the 2 befor i bought/made it)

on a side note, i just checked on DSE's website and the freakin bushings are $750 again. They were $500 like a month ago. Maybe it was a black friday deal and i didnt even realize it. Im going with those anyways.

That was a killer deal, for that kind of savings, damn. Looks like a good tool for the install, definitely some points for ingenuity! Too bad we can't get a video of the install for DIY purposes, either way, it will be nice hearing about the results!

Freeze the bushings the night before and use a heat gun to warm up the bores on the subframe and they should slide right in with minimal effort! No need for special tool.
