But at that point you could have had a boosted SS, or a ZL1 for cheaper and with less problems.

Maybe it's a mental thing, or so you can say my V6 beat your...... Whatever.

If you want a GREAT car to cruse and enjoy get the V6 you won't be dissapointed. If you want to get to high HP your better off starting with the V8.

What he said 100%! I will not bash the V6. That's what I drive. And as a DD and a cruiser it is an amazing car. But not a day goes by that I don't in some small way wish I had a V8. I don't need the speed (the V6 with CAI is actually plenty fast) but I really miss the growl of a V8. I've had my 2012 vert for a year and I love it. But I can see myself "trading up" to an SS or ZL1 in the next couple of years. And part of me wishes I had just saved up and bought an SS or ZL1 to begin with.

It sounds like you compared a v6 with the dual mode exhaust with a V8 that did not have that option. You will want that option if you can get it. When the valves are open it is much louder.

On black, all I can say is if you have any amount of OCD you will hate it. Based on your comment about pollen you may want to consider another color. Black looks amazing for about 5 mins after you wash it. If washing/waxing the car brings you joy then go for it.

You looking for an auto or manual? Manuals are much harder to find FYI

My vote is a clean and low mile 5th gen SS. Do yourself a favor and set aside $500-1000 for a great name brand axleback or catback exhaust system. It completely changes the car and makes driving an SS that eye popping, full grin experience that you are really looking for when buy a sports car like a Camaro.

I don't know. Automatic would be more convenient, but manuals obviously more fun.

I purchased a brand new 2013 Camaro LT auto (V6) and had my fun with it. I decided I really wanted the SS, not only for the power but for the V8 rumble. A year and a half later, I traded in the 2013 LT for a 2011 SS, manual. Best decision I've made, and would do it again. Go for the SS!

Why are you still here? Go get that SS. Plenty of time when you are old to have luxury, quiet, cameras, auto trans, pill reminders.Go.

For the record, all colors get dirty at the same rate. There's nothing magical about blue or red that repels dirt.

I would go with the SS - right exhaust and it will sound excellent.

Black is an amazing looking color when clean, but it is a full time job to keep clean on any car. If I had a garage queen I would get black, daily driven not so much. The 2001 Camaro SS I had NEVER looked clean for more than 15 minutes.

Regarding swirls - check out the cleaning/cosmetic section of the forum. It ks very correctable and is a do it yourself project, will cost you a few hundred bucks for polish, a random orbital polisher, and pads. Not a complicated process - takes about a day of elbow grease and the car would look like a black mirror.
