How the Mustang Mach 1 Stacks Up to the Shelby GT350 and GT500

Interesting article from Motortrend comparing the new Mustang Mach 1 vs the Mustang GT350, GT350R, and GT500.. and at the end, they toss in a comparison between the Mach 1 (with handling package and its almost $65k price tag) versus a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE, which beats the Mustang Mach 1 in every category and costs about $14k less, lol

I have to say I am a bit surprised it did not out grip the ss 1le on the figure 8 regardless of the chassis being inferior. The fact that it has 305’s ON THE FRONT with a stickier compound should have been enough. I’m curious to see actual lap times of it though instead of just figure 8 and braking data. I’ve seen instances where one car out performs another car on the figure 8 and their braking test, but the other car winds up being slightly faster around the track. Still with all that being said these cars are extremely close in performance and the Mach 1 is in no way worth 13k more. The last Mach 1 Ford made was a bigger jump from the GT to the Mach 1 trim. This one not so much. I am very disappointed with Ford because of this.

With the extra horsepower off the mach 1 and revamped suspension, I wasn’t sure what the outcome would be. Oh well I’ll take the win, woot woot!

thing is the mustang fanboys dont understand is our cars handle the power with ease.
my s550 scared the crap out of me over 100 mph..so unstable at any speed made it a joke tbh
watched quite a few mach 1 videos on you tube..same old same old crap.
main thing you'll notice is the test driver bouncing all over the seat on bumpy roads lol. then check out our cars being tested the driver is always rck solid with very little movement. same with the gt500.

Mustang GT PP2 does beat SS 1LE with its Lightning Lap time. Keep in mind, though, that GT PP2(and probably Mach 1 w/HP) come stock with Cup 2 tires, which are more expensive, better track prepared but also much less daily-friendly than SC3 that SS 1LE comes with.
