Water deflector removal?

Going to the track Friday. Would like to remove the water deflector that is mentioned in the track prep.

Ok I'm confused. What part is it? Picture?

Thanks

Open your hood and look straight ahead. Big black plastic element in the center.

I removed mine within a couple months of owning my 1LE (same vent as Z/28). I have had zero problems with this removed. I have been in heavy, driving rain, GM's WeatherPak electrical connectors are bulletproof.

There are I think 7 plastic fasteners that need removed. They have center pins that you pull out some that releases the whole fastener for removal. I'm sure there is a tool for doing it but I used two small flat blade screw drivers. There is a trick to doing it this way but forget what it is.
Also, you need to reinstall one or two of them that holds the seal for the air intake.
The first one is the hardest, not wanting to break one. Once you see how it works the rest were easy. Good Luck!

Ah so. Explains why I wasn't finding it down by the radiator....

Popped the plastic "rivets" out. Can start them with a screwdriver. All came out east. A few went back in to hold the cold air induction plastic that is on the underside of the hood.

Thanks.
