What is the car mainly used for? Hard to beat a GPI rod mod stock intake.
Anything else will kill low end and mid range power and tq. You'd need a 6,000 stall and 4.56s to take advantage of a mid rise, high rise etc....

if you stick that manifold on a stock cammed LS3 then I agree
if you have an aftermarket cam, and you're spinning the motor above 7k rpm then its not a bad choice, but there are better options

I’ll be running a 3600 stall with a Cam 231/243, .649"/.629", 113 LSA

I'm struggling with this too. Here is an interesting article for you to read :
http://www.hotrod.com/articles/giant...dyno-shootout/ Pretty much any intake you can get is tested. Stock LS3 has the highest average power of all of them, except 2. GM engineers really didn't leave much on the table, it's an excellent intake. To swap it, you really have to ask yourself why. There are gains to be made, but they're all up high, North of 7k rpm. Then again, realistically, street tires a/o traction control can only handle so much, so maybe it's worth it to sacrifice the down low power to build it up high. |

Wow, thanks man. Yeah it’s just hard to believe a factory intake is that good. I see they noted what injectors they were using, what are the stock injectors rated at ? And what is the size opening on the ls3 intake for the throttle body ? Does it need to be ported to use a 92/102 ? Is it even worth going for a 92 ?

if you have a stock cam, or a drop-in cam, then stay with the stock intake manifold or get a rod-mod/ported piece. the fast 102 long runner is also a good alternative but expensive the big problem with tests like that is you can make certain parts look really good by sticking to certain rpm ranges. if they had run the engine to 7,500 then the averages would look very different

Hey there, I have been seeing you all talk about this "rod mod" deal with our stock manifolds and was wondering exactly what this is and how it is performed? I am now cammed with a TSP stage 3 cam, 231/246 @ 112 LSA and ALL the goodies that go with it and a 3400 stall and have been looking at all these manifolds out there and have been reading where our stockers, modded are the best so far. I would like to get just a little more, but don't want to break the bank so to speak. So if you could fill me in please?? Thanks

Good morning guys, so what I'm reading here is that any hi-rise or mid-rise would not work to well on a daily cammed car, to just stick to my stocker or go with the GPI rod modded piece to get a bit more performance out of the engine? I have the TSP Stage 3 cam and all the goodies to go with it 3200 stall converter, and supposedly my tuner said the shift points are set @ 6800 and the redline @ 7000 and stock gears for now, thinking about the 3.91 swap. Thanks in advance guys.
