L99 Paddle Shifter Sound When Shifting From 1st Gear To 2nd Gear

Key notes: I have the L99 engine with the automatic transmission. Stock Tune.

The issue I am having is this:
When driving and using the paddle shifters in manual mode. I would be at a complete stop and in first gear and as I accelerate and shift from 1st into 2nd, I get this sound that kinda sounds like pressure being released or like something is slipping (kinda like both at the same time). The sound is coming from the center of the car in the transmission area. The sound also varies in tone and length depending on the RPM (in 1st gear) when I shift into 2nd gear. (Example: In 1st gear at 4500RPMs I change to 2nd gear, the sound might last longer and be louder VS. in 1st gear at 3000RPMs and changing to 2nd gear.) I am only experiencing this when switching from 1st - 2nd gear. And if I where to give you a ratio of how often I can make it happen is about 8 times out of 10.

I have heard this sound in the past while in drive mode, but did not think much about it because it would happen so rarely. I am concerned now because after using the paddle shifters I finally pin pointed how to make the sound appear. I did not notice this earlier because I rarely use the paddle shifters.

Very sorry to hear about this. I understand that you're seeking thoughts and opinions, but send me a message if you want to take it a step further and get an official diagnosis. I will then reach out to the dealer's Customer Care Specialist for additional assistance with potentially resolving this at the dealer level.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this issue. I do plan on taking it in to have checked out, but it is not easy for me to just go to the dealership whenever because I am in college. Plus I like to have somewhat of an idea of what could be wrong before going to the dealership.

Any help would be great.

Thank you.

I had a similar problem in 2012. (vibration/drone type noise when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear). I spoke to a friend who knew someone at GM and they gave me his email.
I sent him en email and he told me there was a notice sent on 12/2011 to all GM dealerships regarding this problem. He sent me a copy.
I don't know how to attach a PFD this message. Let me know if you need a copy.

#11-03-09-001: Vibration or Drone Type Noise - (Dec 8, 2011) Condition Some customers may comment on a vibration or drone type noise at 1150-1200 RPM or 61-72Ƈkm/h (38-45Ƈmph) in 6th gear and TCC on. This vibration or drone type noise is present at the above MPH range during light throttle application and will remain as long as the engine load remains constant during these conditions. Correction The front two rear suspension support (cradle) bushings will need to be replaced. Follow the procedure below to replace the bushings. Note: To perform this procedure you will need the following Special Tools:J-45725-A Bushing Replacer CH-50559 Front Hub/Bearing Remover/Installer Kit KM-500-2 Remover/Installer Subject: Vibration or Drone Type Noise Models: 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Equipped with V6 Engine and Automatic Transmission Built After VIN Breakpoint B914559

More information about my concern:

Something that I noticed since the first post is that the sound, when loud sounds more like it is inside the cab vs. when it is not as loud it sounds like it is both inside and outside the cab. However, either way the sound seems to generate from the front of the center console underneath the four gauges, somewhere in that general area and that it happens when switching from 1st gear to 2nd gear in paddle shifter mode and sometimes in drive mode.
