SUMMER ONLY TIRES?

Has anyone talked to a dealer about swapping the Summer run flats for a set of all season tires. I have. It's been a week and they haven't gotten back to me. It's silly to have a snow mode with Summer only tires and no other choice.

worth every cent. That said, talk to your dealer or a local tire dealer about an exchange. I work for a company that buys large quantities of class 8 truck that we mount bodies onto. We regularly exchange the stock tires for customer special request type or brand. It needs to be done before taking delivery

Can you mount 18" wheels on the SS models?

I didn't think you could because of the Brembo brakes.................

I thought it was 20" rims only, whether its summers, all seasons or snow tires.

There is video of someone taking a Camaro on the "Find New Roads" program through snow/ice and had no problems, just drove slower than normal.

Get all season tires if you want to turn your Gen 6 into a Buick Lesabre, which by the way was a pretty good boat.

All seasons to everything "meh" and nothing well.

I had P-Zero summer only tires on my car... Then on a 23 degree morning I hit a tree. Summer Only tires are dangerous in the winter, period, end of story.

There are only 2 all seasons that are good in winter.

1) Nokian WRG3. However, not really 'sports car' material, softish sidewall, and biggest tire is 19" (and a 255 at that).

2) Continental ExtremeContact DWS-06. New version and much, much better than the DWS it replaces. A tire that will hardly leave you stranded in the snow, decent response, and excellent for cold weather, where summer tires are usually never recommended near or below freezing temps.

If you were to get an all season, the DWS06 will not disappoint. Then, when it gets warm enough, swap them out for the Summers that came on the car.

But nothing beats dedicated snows on another set of wheels.

If you knew they were "summer only" why did you drive on a 23 degree morning? I just took the beast out last night for 45 miles in 20 degree weather and feel really lucky I survived.

Mine's a daily driver all year round, and I've got a second set.

Putting all-seasons as my only tire would drive me nuts because it'd kill all the performance of the car.

I think those cars were equipped with snow tires. At least a few of the waves going through the northern states, did.

A man has to work... 23 is unusual here in GA so temp hasn't been a problem in the past. That morning the car had sat outside and got cold soaked. The ass end was all over the place, even at low speeds. Broke loose at 60 MPH in a curve and it was all over.

Car in my signature is totaled.... Now driving a 2016
