Meat mounted #2!

Finally had the 305's installed -- REALLY like the looks of these -- My Goodyears are showing some wear so, I'll probably get these for my 'daily' driving too. Probably before going to CFest...

Here they are mounted:

Ready for the next track day now!

Now, thanks to Mark, (ABADZL1)

Getting this:

Time to add it. Have the SLP column gauge pod already so, should be great!

Not bad for after a track day!

Took about 5 minutes to ghost, 10 minutes to remove all the RWP. If you double coat, it comes off much easier (thicker) and make sure to avoid 'gaps'...

Did the screw driver test after the second coat cure... tough stuff!

great product for long road trips on the highway! I take my ZL1 on a 300km round trip on the highway and i see alot of rock chips on the front bumper/rear fender areas.

How much would i need to apply the front bumper/front fenders/rear fenders to make it a very durable anti rock chip coat? 3 or 4 layers?

Would the 8oz from amazon be enough for the above?

8 Would be enough I'd wager but, likely for @ most just a couple of uses.

1 quart + the roller kit would give you several uses.

2 Layers is pretty thick, 3 would be the most I'd personally go...

FYI, I have 8 Quarts and I now use this every time I track or take long trips. I also take it with me just in case of rain during the trip.

Rain would impact it so keep that in mind -- water is the agent to 'remove' it.

OK, Wideband is ordered and I just couldn't help myself. Bought this:

https://www.apextrackcoach.com/

Apex Pro. I've been watching this for a while and really want to see if it has merit -- sure seems to...

Just part of the 'fun' of learning...

OK! Signed up for the 4/14 event at Eagles Canyon! Should be fun time out. This time I'll have the Toyos, JPSS Caster Locks, Apex Pro, 4 (ordered 2 more) 5+ gallon cans of E85!

May have the AEM AFR installed by then -- have to see how my schedule goes...

Can't wait to see how it does the second time out...

Toyo R888Rs

OK, mounted the wheels and took the car out for a test drive (45 minutes).

All I can say is --- WOW...

these things grip fantastically and I found no real additional road noise compared to the goodyears. Just a slight hum above 75.

Man once these things warm up (and they do so quickly when you're near the 80's), GRIP...

The goodyears would take me sideways in 3rd gear @ 70 at 1/2 throttle, not these, 3rd gear, 1/2 @ 70 -- BITE -- very little slippage before it bit...

I'm going to order me a second set just for my daily driver wheels and trip to CamaroFest.

I average 2 years on the goodyears (with track days) so I'm expecting at least that since I now have 2 sets -- one for road course, one for driving...

Here are the pics:

Rears:

Fronts:

Ordered a second set of tires too for DD...

BTW, these come heat cycled ready to go! No shaving or heat cycling needed according to Toyo rep-- how about that!

How come you did not go with 315 or 325?

Road racing, makeup of the car is centered around the stock setup. Wider tires in the rear would change my setup and more than likely add more understeer. Right now, it’s more neutral with power allowing me to oversteer. These tires will grip more so I’ll be very interested to see how that impacts steering.

I’d probably go 295/315 or 305/325 if the setup would allow it. Also, don’t want to add anymore weight, I’m heavy enough ;o)

A 305/315 would be interesting too... just have to try out my current combo and go from there. JusticePete has long recommended 305/305 square setup... may go with that at some point...

305/305 is the ticket unless you go 325/325, of course

Yeah 325 squared would be some serious meat!
