That was my 1st guess also. Has to be a M6. But I believe there will be a pleasant surprise with this ZL1-R if there is a 10 speed auto option. I'm sure GM has tested both on the Ring in the ZL1 and already know which one is faster. Don't be surprised if it's the Auto.

As someone who came from a V2 with a blower that tracked, I would like to see a N/A motor if this is indeed the next Z/28. In general, SC sucks on a road course due to heat soak. I've had days in the V2 where I decided to skip the afternoon sessions due to high ambient temps. On those days, my V would start to pull timing due to heat soak and see 300+ oil temps after a couple laps.

. I would tend to agrees with you if it wasn't for the V3. I think Caddilac figured out the heat soak issues with LT4 and GM further improved it in the ZL1 and this track version.

Pretty sure those are CCB's they just removed the logo's.

Here is a video to go with it:

I thought I heard some supercharger wine at :02 in the first video but can't hear it after that.

What on earth makes anyone think the GM would make ANY Camaro have the "R" attached to it. Chevy isn't making vehicles in response to Ford. The Camaro SS in base form is nearly the car the GT350 is. Chevy has Ford firmly in the rear view at this point. They are chasing history, not ford, in my opinion.

GO GM!!

I don't believe anybody actually assumes there will be an "R" moniker attached to this or any other GM vehicle. I think they're saying it is going to be Ford "R-esque" (as in more hard-core than a standard ZL1 or whatever this machine may be).

It absolutely kills me, the folks that complain about a functional wing on a track car.

Having said that, yes, it does sound like it's supercharged, but mics can be deceiving.

Unless you work for GM then anything is possible.

In the vids showing up, you can tell it's blown and a manual. They also have vids of a 1LE running around as you can see from the hood, etc. We live in a great time to have so many cool choices now or in the near future.

It's going to heat soak bad. The way they package the plethora of coolers on the 6th gen will make it incredibly expensive to modify and upgrade cooling systems the way they need to be. I'd just find a used 5th gen Z28. Yes it's heavier but it can be modified much more cheaply and already exceeds the capabilities of 98% of people that will be driving them.

The new one will undoubtedly be faster but I doubt it will be as consistent over a long session, it's will be great for hero laps and magazine article reviews. It's definitely an awesome machine but not what I'd get for dedicated hardcore tracking unless GM pulls off a miracle to address heat issues they've historically underdesigned.

As intriguing as the new Z/28 is, I still have seen or heard anything to make we want to even consider parting with my '15. Matter of fact, nothing in my price range of about $100,000 currently made, makes me want to sell my Z/28.

From that video it definitely sounds like a manual transmission -dint hear the faint sounds of rev-matching though.
Heads Up Display = awesome.
Also from the other pictures also noticed that they "chalked" the tires too just like they did during 5th gen development.

I don't disagree with that statement especially for those that bought on the low side of the pricing...
