For those with the issue, did it sound like a window was open, sitting still, no engine running? That's what mine sounds like. Had the recall done a couple weeks ago. No different...maybe worse. Back at the dealer again yesterday for 3.5 hours. All they did was drive it and another car for comparison (my 2012 and a 2014). The 2014 was quiet at low speed but got louder. Mine is definitely not sealing somewhere. Ticket is still open. Did the 5th bow replacement correct an issue like this? Also, the rubber seal over the rear windows does not lay flat. You can stick your finger in there. No light shows though. Anyone have these conditions and what fixed them? TIA!

Take a picture of your seal, I am not sure what you are saying about a gap

My dealer refused to have their technicians install the new top. They hired a company that specializes in convertible tops to do the work for them. It was flawless and perfect the first time. I would suggest you get the dealer to subcontract a specialist.

Unfortunately not all that claim to be specialists actually are. These tops are complicated and the installers have to be able to do more than follow instructions. They sometimes need to be able to have the smarts to figure issues out on their own. Like mine where they claimed there were no adjustments for the top when mine was not closing evenly, they said the frame was bent again and needed to be replaced again. I ended up having to figure out the top operation on my own and made one small adjustment that fixed it.

This one being about the convertible tops is valid through April of 2014. I hope this is the final fix for this issue and none of you have problems ever again. Man... I just got a used 2012 that seemed like the best purchase I've ever made, until it rained that is =''''( Im having the same problem and I stopped by service on Monday and was told Id have to pay for a leak test and all repairs. I've been going everywhere online and it seems to be a common problem with these models... It does suck that this hasn't been an official recall. Would you be able to check if my vin, by any chance is covered for this? If not, Im returning the car since I just got it and got the return option on my contract... which I would HATE to do =''''''''''''(

Of the top gap and such? Ill get you some this afternoon. Anyhow, I contacted GM through here and through their customer service # and it seems like that customer program addressing this issue disappeared out of nowhere...
I'm shocked that even though this is a well known issue that I've been seeing repeatedly on other forums as well as this one, and on many 11-12 models, GM hasn't had the decency to issue an open recall to deal with their mistake. From one engineer to another, this is purely lousy work and GM should take responsibility for their mistake. Not that they're obligated to but hey, if I screw up my product, Id be damn ashamed and would do anything to fix the issue on my dime for my reputation's sake.

I just flew back from Tesla Motors just two weeks ago for an interview and this was a question I addressed at their factory, on how they adjust to customer reviews. I was damn surprised on how on point they are and Ill tell you this, believe it or not, places like General Motors have their days numbered if they don't adjust to the excellence most companies are aspiring/running to...

Sorry it took me so long, heres a picture of the gap. Also, the top was ripped on the sides, even though the convertible enhancements were performed on this vehicle at 31k, now that I bought it at 37k (out of bumper to bumper warranty), Im left with this issue which actually a common defect in these models that was not properly addressed.

Mine looks just like this. picked it up a month ago with 6000 miles, 2011 2SS/RS certified GM with a 12000/12 month warranty. Mine goes into the shop Monday.

just got mine back form the dealer. Top shop put the new top on too tight & the dealership had it for about 12 days to make it right. To me, it's a good install; nice gap between fabric & frame when it's down, quiet on the road - no wind noise. The only thing I'm hearing is the occasional cable hitting against the fabric (somewhere in the right rear seat area) when I'm going over "older" sections of road.

Anyone else ever hear their cables hitting the fabric? I figure they're not overly loose because it looks right & there's no wind noise like I've seen others say.
