Is it essential to have the backing plate for the rotors.

Yes. I responded to your TPH Coatings post.

Just a heads up. TPH does awesome work. They done my CTS-V/ZL1 calipers and perfectly matched them to my Blue Ray Metallic stripe. If you want pics message me a number and I can send some to ya.

What is the about mileage on this setup? Leaving for vacation on September 10th, looking to do a Brembo conversion this fall. Will need calipers/rotors. Will use stainless lines and new hardware.

The mileage was 5-6k on the brakes.

The only hardware that you would need would be the 4 Front/Rear caliper mounting bolts.

You might need to order the F/R dust shield mounting bolts when you get the rear dust shield. Since it's a V6 swap.

Since you are going to install SS lines the copper washers will come in the kit you buy.

Sent you a PM.

Ben, thank you for all the pictures as well as answering all the foolish questions I had. A huge thank you for putting me onto Kevin for some outstanding powder coating. Envelop will go out tomorrow morning my friend. Hope you did not spend to much money in TN today?

While waiting for the calipers to powder coated I decided this would be a great time to start collecting needed hardware. My local GM dealership would only go cost plus 40% guess that's not to bac considering no shipping. I purchased the following;

Master cylinder # 22956541 $106.33
Crush gaskets (8) # 21012386 $4.40
Torque to Yield caliper bolts front (4) #11570788 $13.44
Torque to Yield caliper bolts rear (4) #11515781 $10.44

Now trying to decide if I want to purchase the OEM rear dust shield #23131777 & 23131778, those puppies are expensive for stamped tin!

Wish there was not so much of a markup in parts! Just think of all the people who have their vehicles service at dealerships and do not attempt a parts discount!

You or your shop can trim the V6 dust shields without removing them.

Changing the dust shields adds another layer of complexity to the caliper job, and is unnecessary since you can just trim them with no penalties to performance or reliability.
