Did not pick up the Z28 yet. Up here in the Northeast, some dealers don't want to let the car go for what I've seen posted here. The best was between $55-58K.
I'm in no rush to buy. I have a awesome ZL1 that is hibernating. I've let them know, if they hit my number to call. So we'll see. My number is $52k, so were just a little off. |

It was a mixed Bag. That day the temp was about 50 degrees. The roads in the Mass lower NH area are not the smoothest. The test drive was about 3 miles. Love the sound, seats and the stance of the Z28 compared to the ZL1. I want it but the BOSS Likes the ZL1 better because of the ride. I have my work cut out for me.

This car is not for everyone. If the ZL1 suits your lifestyle and family better, then keep it. There's nothing wrong with that reasoning.
The number of new Z/28's for sale is dwindling everyday. Soon there will be only used cars for sale. Maybe you'll find one for 52K then.

yeah 52K is crazy cheap I thought I did well at 58K but either way it comes down to what kind of car do you want. The z/28 is an unapologetic raw race car that street legal. Its not a jack of all trades car by any means but if you are looking for an analog drivers car, something that is a dying breed and want something that is fairly rare you cant go wrong. But it definitely wont be as plush as your zl1 which is a great car as well. If you do decided the z/28 is for you and you can pick it up for 55k steal that thing and run knowing you are getting so much bang for you buck, how often are people buying cars for 22K under window sticker? All the deprecation from the first year will be eaten up from that purchase price (not included taxes) and you will have a very very special car.....but at the end of the day the z/28 is not for everyone, good luck and whatever you end up doing enjoy the fact you have an awesome car either way...

I would love to add a Z/28 to the stable in 2-3 years. Personally, I believe the LS7 is the best LS engine. OP, I would wait until the new year maybe Spring. I wouldn't be surprised if the Z/28 are going to be selling mid- low 40s.

Of the 3 Z28's I'm looking at, both white one's from 2 different dealers are quoting me around $59K and the dealer with the Black one is quoting me $55K.
All 3 are on the showroom. I know they will need to make room for the 2016. I gave each of them my number and when they agree to $52K I will buy it. All 3 called me today. Unfortunately I have to travel until Friday. I'm sure all 3 will be there when I get back. These Z's are taking up real estate on the showroom floor. Business is Business, know when to cut your losses when no one is buying right before the winter months here in the Northeast. When the stock market crashed back in 08 I picked up a certified 2006 CTS-V with 12K miles for $19K out the door at a Caddy dealership. They even threw in free oil changes for 3 years. Just sayin. |

I did what any other grown man would do to his wife. I moped around, threw temper tantrums and finally begged.
Of all the cars I've bought and sold I lost my ass on one. 2001 Audi S4. I will never buy another Audi turbo, especially a twin turbo. Sensor after sensor. |

Yep, your in denial. You are looking at it like the Z/28 was worth 75K. It wasn't. The car should have been priced mid to low 50s from the start. You can see at that price point the car is drawing more purchasing interest.

Once the cars of off dealers lots and into owners hands who can afford them and appreciate them, then we can see what happens to values. At the moment they definitely made to many. Only time will tell how the car does value wise. The real question is if there will be a gen 6 z/28.....Im hoping not. At the end of the day all the haters who think the car wasn't worth 75K you obviously haven't read or watched any information on the car. Review after review talked about how the car didn't cost enough, not to mention you guys haven't truly driven the car and experienced it for what it is. Pretty rare to see actual owners unhappy with the car, and it really says something when the majority of the people who do own them have had porsches, vettes and vipers and still have great things to say about the z/28. If the value takes a shit oh well that happens to most cars and being an early adopter means you take that risk but for the buyers that do pull the trigger any time you get that car in its element its so worth it.
