Well he can say goodbye to his car now. Here in NC if you're convicted of racing they seize your car and sell it at auction or keep it as a police vehicle.

It looks like a testimonial to Dodge's fabulous advertising campaign and commercials. They advertise that Fast and Furious Vin Diesel BS and guess what?...It worked just "as advertised" in this case. Fortunately, no one was killed.

Take it to the track.

Dumb ass! If you are going to break the law don't document the crime and then place it on the internet!

Dumb Ass!

Same with Florida. Another trooper is working on seizing two cars after a street racing arrest.

Allowing police departments to seize property for their own use is a bad idea. It incentivizes trumped up charges in order to get themselves cool stuff.

I think the seizure law may have been changed now, but in the past some people driving through Louisiana in nice cars were surprised to find out that they were carrying drugs.

Not really. In order to seize a vehicle for police use the vehicle has to be paid off, they can't just take the vehicle and leave the owner with the car payment. If there is a lean, then the department must pay off the remainder of loan before taking possession. Most departments budget is so close that they can't spend $30-$40k paying off cars that they seize so it rarely happens.

Lol, nope.
Speaking from experience, I worked as a fleet tech for a local city and we had an MBZ S65 AMG, 3 Escalades with the smallest rims as 22" and another with a supercharger and 26" rims, and two 7 series BMWs. This was not a large city with a huge budget either. The S65 was a PITA to put tires on every 6 months.

Most drug dealers pay cash for their cars. And what he said is correct. As an executive level police official, we can’t take property with a lien unless we pay it off.
