New Camaro Paint Update - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

As you may remember - I broke the news of an updated paint process in Oshawa (here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103837).

It appears this update is 90% complete at this time, and it is because of future Cadillac production.

Cadillac quality paint, on your future Camaro! We'll see how this new process compares soon !

The car is ALWAYS going to continue to improve, this is a result of Cadillac coming into the Oshawa plant. Rather see it get better than worse....Or people will start buying something else!

quick... some one go out to the railyard and pull that IOM 2SS/RS off the rail car and back to the factory to wait for the new paint!!!

Glad they're updating the process... I had and am still having issues with my paint, hopefully this will resolve the cause of one of those problems.

so does this mean they will address the previous models paint issues? I have recently discovered some paint flaws on the rear of my car that i am not happy with. basically tiny holes in the paint. cant believe it took me this long to see it

That should already be covered under warranty if it was like that from the factory. I don't see how updating a process would be retro-active.

I had Diamond White Tricoat on my CTS. That would be a sweet color on the Camaro.

Does this mean any camaros produced after the shut-down are seeing the benefits of this change?? (fingers crossed) ...or at least 90% of the benefit

I hope this helps with the complaints about paint chips, flaking, and the color match issues on some cars. The paint issues I've heard about on this board are probably the biggest thing that concern me about the Camaro.

I hope someone can pin down a build date and/or VIN on when the new process is used.
