Installing a JDP tow hook today

Just wanted to share what I'm doing today. My lovely wife got me a tow hook for Christmas and encouraged me to install it today. So I've never done this nor did it come with instructions but after a few google searches I felt i could do it. I was most nervous about removing the front fascia. After it was removed I'm not sure why I was so scared lol. It was super easy. Here is a few pics of where I'm at...

This was the easy part. Make sure you mark where you want the hook BEFORE removing the fascia.

My only hiccup to this point was this connector. I had the front end literally off and didn't disconnect this. I had to hold the front end in one hand and unplug this with the other. No fun....

Ok so everything is done and I think it turned out well. I had to remove the front end a couple times to get the hook aligned just right. I'm really surprised this hook didn't come with a template for drilling holes. There are plenty of reference points to go off of. I would of cut an hour off the install time had I not had to adjust the hook so many times. This was my first time ordering from JDP and everything went great. They are good people to deal with.

How did you measure to figure out where to drill holes? Or did it come with a template?

Looks great!

If you read his DIY you'll see he said there was no template and what he did to measure the holes.

BigBlock before I took the bumper off I used I long pic to mark where the hook should go. Basically centered it so it'd come through the grill. Once I drilled the holes where I marked them I installed the tow hook. It has Oblonged holes so you can fine tune where it comes through the grill at. As long as you're patient it'll turn out fine

In the second picture you can also see where I marked the support with a sharpie.
