The dealer that I got my car from does not take credit cards, I had to write a check for the down payment

Depends - if I had the money to buy the car in cash/check then I'd do it and just pay the whole thing off a few days later.

If you have a credit card that goes up to 22k.....Well, my theory is those that have good credit, don't need it...and those that need credit, can't get it....lol

soooo.....get a credit card with miles or cahs back, buy the car with that credit card, then pay it off with the loan money from the bank before interest kicks in.......collect free miles and cash back.....

There are some small used car dealers around here that I have seen that take credit cards but they're the we finance you type places. No way a new car dealer will eat the 2-4% fee.

I did it in college. 10k to buy some P.O.S. PT Cruiser. They wouldn't finance me because I only worked some part-time job while I was in college. 15% Interest rate. Completely stupid but it was a necessity.
