Mace cams...

I know they're expensive at $1k+. However, if the Mace cams can add an average of 77rwhp with just a CAI and aftermarket exhaust to the V6, how come more people are not hopping on this?

It's a lot cheaper than a $7k supercharger or twin turbo setup. Best of all, it's 77rwhp N/A. That puts the LFX at almost 400hp at the crank which ain't too shabby. I'm sure with an E-85 tune it could get to 400hp.

How come tuners like Overkill are not coming up with good tunes for these cams?

Because certain people have a vested interest if the cams do not do well, so they slam them every chance they get.

Magnum, what is your point of view on the Mace cams issue?

I'm enjoying my MACE cams. If you look at engines similar to the 3.6L they have a lot longer duration than the stock cams do, especially the exhaust cams.

The 70 HP is coming from the very high RPM, the stock cams top out at 6700, the MACE cams keep going at 7500 RPM. It is about 40 more HP at the same RPM, once it passes 6700 the HP difference really climbs.

Tuning aspect of it requires different thinking since there is a lot of overlap built in when other cams will have no overlap at the VVT park position.

Magnum, when you say others have a vested interest in seeing the Mace cams fail, do you mean the companies that offer F.I. options?

Also, can you explain a bit more about the exhaust cam overlap issue and the ECU tuning rethink that comes with that? I'm still trying to understand VVT and how that relates to tuning.

If any of this was discussed before, then please forgive me. I've been seaching the archives and trying to research it bit.

I do wish the LFX V6 section on here was more than just endless exhaust questions.

Not going to say the company, but you probably know who.

Think of VVT as a tool to allow you to have 2,500 different camshafts and able to swap them out in 0.5 seconds. You can switch from having a camshaft that idles easily and produces great low end torque to one that idles like crap, has no low end torque but produced great high end power.

Wouldn't be me, infact Overkill is still hoping to work with MACE to solve some fueling issues using their cam upgrade, so they'll offer double the benefit.

Not your company, but there was one that installed the MACE cams, showed great gains then they decided to do their "professional" cylinder head port job and lost 30 HP on it. Trifecta wouldn't work with them anymore because their name was dragged through the mud by them.

That's what I'm hoping for. Those cams plus the S/C would make for one mean and nasty V6. lol!

i DGAF what anyone thinks parts are parts in my eyes
i like the thought of mace cams 70-30whp is pretty much all i want to chase after anyways. this car feels like an amazing sports class cross country GT car with the v6 in it. those cams i feel would be a nice improvement. id hate to be that guy<------ but after looking at cost NA is a nicer way to go.

if i was to do power mods i would just do a big bore LFX bore out the cylinders bigger pistons , injectors, exhaust, tune ect ect ehhh i can dream
