DTC P013E and P014A

Just received an unwanted xmas gift. I received codes P013E and P014A a few weeks ago, cleaned my CAI filter and the problem went away till yesterday.

P013E HO2S Delayed Response Rich to Lean Bank 1 Sensor 2
P014A HO2S Delayed Response Rich to Lean Bank 2 Sensor 2

From what I've read, I plan on trying the spark plugs, wires first. I'm wondering if it's the gas I used last, was in a pinch and filled up at Circle K (have always filled up at Shell 91 octane). I've made no changes to my Camaro for some time.

I've always had some back fire after installing the SC several years ago, maybe could be an issue now? I've also noticed that my Camaro stalls off the line briefly, I press the gas pedal (not a lot) and she moves then there's a short stall that moves me forward until it resumes accelerating. I'll have to run these by my tuner.

Anyone have recommendations for the spark plugs, stock or aftermarket due to my SC install? Anyone try NGK IRIDIUM IX SPARK PLUG TR5IX?

Thanks,

Gary

I have the same problem after stage 3 cam and tune. It back fires when I’m on a incline trying to take off and Boggs off the line for a brief second. I’ve taking it back to the turner 4 times and no one can figure it out. I’m now having problems with doing burn outs with traction control off, it Boggs down like it wants to stall. They said I have to rev over 4000rpm and pop the clutch which doesn’t make since. Does anyone else have this problem?

Finally installed Summit Racing wires and NGK plugs, big difference, engine purrs like a kitten now, acceleration is smooth and steady now. The stock plugs had a lot of ware on the electrodes, had to drain the radiator to get to the driver side front 2 plugs. The engine check light actually went off when I added octane booster and fuel system cleaner prior to changing the plugs but the plugs needed to be replaced.

I'll have to wait till the next time I do a cold start to see if the backfire occurs. I didn't realize how rough the Camaro was running until I replaced the wires and plugs. The stock plugs didn't come close to making it to 65K miles, I assume due to the SC, plugs were in bad shape.

Ya, something sounds fishy. You shouldn't have to rev to 4k, that's nonsense. Did you modify your fuel system or install bigger fuel injectors? Maybe find a different tuner?

I think I’m going to take it to a different tuner, I really feel like the traction control kicks on even after it is clearly disable.

FYI

Looks like the spark plugs (wires) fixed the P-Codes, no check engine light after replacing them.

The P014A retuned, oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 2.
Can someone verify that the bank 2 sensor 2 OS is on the driver side, aft sensor.

I've had the tune for several years, the P-code is fairly recent and intermittent. I figure the O2 sensor is fairly cheep to purchase. Just going down the list for this P-code. It's got plenty of hp/acceleration.

What heat range NGK did you go to? you mentioned 5 earlier and thats opposite of what you want. I would say a 7 is the most common plug on a boosted LS. Also really important to gap them at .028. Also I wouldn't get to fancy on plugs. the NGK BR7EF is what I have had the best luck with.

I went with the NGK IZTR5B11/1465. It's been a while, what's the down side to running the hotter plug? Gap factory set to .040, why do you recommend the smaller gap size? I imaging I'll be replacing the plugs sooner due to the hotter plug.

You reduce the gap so there is less of a chance that the boost will blow out the candles/spark
