Help catching person who damaged my 2010 2SS/RS. Central PA, Harrisburg, Mechanicsbur
Need help finding this truck. Last seen in the I-83N to 581 W, to 81 towards Carlisle around 810-820am.
Truck hit a bump and dumped tons of rocks on to the road this morning pelting my car with tons of thumb sized and bigger rocks. Have numerous paint chips now. License plate on trailer was either XCM-2195 or XCW-2195. Also back of truck said "awn Services LLC." (it was missing the "L" and some other letters.) Also had a list of the services, phone number was on the door but I was unable to get it because the driver drifted in to my lane forcing me over and I lost him at a highway split. Just need to know what company this was. |

Did you call the police and see if they can track it

I called the police, and they had me fill out a form and fax it to Penn Dot, but they aren't sure if they can track the trailer plate yet.

Could OnStar have done something?

did it have a sign that said "Stay Back 500 ft, Not Responsible for Damage To Windows"?

No sign, and I was back pretty far. The rocks were falling out the back of the truck and on to the wooden trailer launching them straight up in to the air. It looked like a swarm of bats or something. Took me a second to realize what it was, otherwise I would have been fine.
Either way, an unsecured load is illegal. A sign can't save him from that. |

Onstar could have called the police while you correctly identified the plates and could have dispatched a unit to your approximate location to stop the truck and do an accident report.

Wow, I wish I would have pressed that red button. I know now for next time. Which hopefully there is no next time.

Well after talking to my insurance agent my biggest fear was laid to rest. This falls under comprehensive and not collision, so for $100 this problem will go away without raising my rates. What a relief.
I now have a very good idea of how everyone with the paint chipping issues feel and I've only had it 3 weeks. |
