Its in that general area. It varies a little bit depending on what kind of speedway it is being built for.

Didn't need to see the auction to know that Rick Hendrick was going to win it! Not many people in todays society that are able to shell out $250,000 just to say they got the 1st one then write off most of it as a tax deduction, but then again... he also bought the 1st SS 2010 for $350,000 and the 1st couple of 2011 Convertibles too! Wish I had his collection and $$

Re: ZL1 shirts and hats. Choko, a GM - Canada-licensed company, has done a good job in the past of offering attractive GM/Camaro wearables. Let 'em know what you want, and if there's enough demand, voila!

IT will be unwrapped and disposed of.... however they will paint the one in production with number 00069 serial number in carbon flash... the one in auction was a prototype example not the real one being auctioned...

I dont think its a direct 1 - 1 writeoff either. However, he probably gets 250,000 less a $50,000 vehicle cost, with a remainder $200,000 writeoff. Then he gets a 50% tax credit of $100,000 more than paying for the vehicle.

Now, Im not a shell game wizard, but Im sure he has good ones working for Hendrick Motorsports! Either way, its a generous way to help others!

So what's the latest best guess-timate on how much the ZL1 is going to actually cost us next year...? 45 / 55 / 65 I hope Chevrolet doesn't overprice itself; better to sell a million at 40 than 20,000 at 70?
