Rosella T6?
Anyone use this oil for the camaro? I used it on all of my previous builds, but wanted to see if it’s something this community is fond of.
Or does anyone recommend a specific brand ? Along with filter |

Rotella T6 is indeed popular but I'd follow the required Dexos 1/2 specs founds in the manual.

I used it in my built G8 at the recommendation of my engine builder. It used to have more zinc than standard oils which would eat up catalytic converters. I believe Shell reformulated because of this.
I will be staying with GM recommended oil while my Camaro remains stock and under warranty. |

I just bought 19 Litres of T6. I'm still on the fence about using it or returning it. I don't have catalytic converters in my 2.0 Turbo anymore so I don't have to worry about buggering up the cat.
I'm mainly concerned with its extremely high magnesium and low calcium content. All of the high end gasoline engine oils are high calcium low magnesium.

The G8 community overall is great. Met some really great people. Have not clicked with the Camaro crowd yet but I admit I haven't really tried! I think I over modified the G8. The Camaro is everything I was trying to make the G8 be. Always lose money on mods but I am very happy with my 1LE! |

I used to drive a white G8 GT and went to C&C Cary/Morrisville, now I drive a green Charger scat pack, went through a couple Mustangs in between as well. Maybe I'll see you at C&C in December. |

First question is what do you intend on doing with your car? Daily driving? Track events? If daily driving, stick to a recommended Dexos1 approved oil. Track driving, I'd recommend Motul X-Clean 5W-40 (Dexos2).
*Shameless plug* I just so happen to have (6) 5-liter jugs of Motul X-Clean 5W-40 for sale, and I'm up in Vacaville. |

no, not good in the LT1 unless you're using it strictly for track duty.
