Do I get to say I told everyone so hehehhe

Few months back I warned of doom and gloom when all the game threads got deleted for being to big that the other large threads left would come to haunt us.

Problem is most to all forums software is dumb, and when you click to read a page in a large mutli page thread, you may only click to see one certain page, but the server still has to load the entire thread and all its data, as not much is real in a forum, every page is built on the fly for each person.

So when you click to see page 5000 of the original thread, it has to load all the user data and post from page 1-5000 and it does that for each person. Even though you only see 1 page.

Id say your next problem will be its still open, just closing it for posting will not solve that issue. it must be deleted or transformed into an archive posting that's all txt to stop the server from going nuts when several folks click the link at once to load a 5000+ page thread to see why its closed.

I know all this as we went through it in our forum and implemented a thread post count limit to head it off at the pass from now on.

Which meant no more 10,000 post game threads, as just like here, they were the ones causing a problem, not the help threads, which is what the forum is about. So off with their head

[and I know a 10,000 post threads causing problems sounds lame but when you only paid $15 a month for hosting, thats all it takes to clogg things up.]
