And I'm serious about no politcs.
I think it's a pretty simple question. I'm not talking politics. I was asking a question about controlling a web page. I see this same answer on every forum when something like this comes up. I just can't believe that there is no way to decide what gets put on your own web site.

Why can't anyone on here seem to understand a rhetorical question. Of course I know Google would not do that. What I was asking is what would you do if it did do something that the site was completely against.

No just the rest of it.

The politics topic is so charged, you'd be amazed how easy it is to start an all out firestorm.

this is one of the those topics we keep on an extremely short leash.

It's based on keywords...

The forum can control it to some extent, block certain keywords and ads from certain sites...

I don't buy that in this case because I had it on my web page, and I can tell you I wasn't doing any political searches. In fact I've never done a political search of any kind.

rhetorical and sarcasm don't read very well...

They pay camaro5 to put that ad on our home page. As such they determine the content. They determine the content based on who pays them more... and the demographic of our site. They also get paid based on per click. So if you click on it you just put money in Google's pocket. Google will rotate ad's that have a higher pay per click more often. Just like the top few links on a google search. Each time you click one google gets some coin.

There have also been mustang or Ford ads on the home page... it is what it is.

They are targeting certain keywords like:
2010
new(s)
poll (did you participate in the SEMA Camaro vote?)
vote (ditto)

If I could find the ad again, I could tell you exactly what they are bidding on.
