New 3D TV's

I myself cannot wait for this stuff to take off and am going to hold out on a new projector to see what happen's.

wait for the samsung 9000 series to come out. thats there flagship 3d tv . its like as thin as the width of a pencil. i would probably wait a couple years to get one though....bit pricey and not enough interface out for it yet

I'm going to wait until sony releases a new xbr that has 3-d built in

sony is overpriced in my opinion.
and as for 3d tvs i would wait the first year they are out and let them fix out any bugs and add improvements. and of course price is gonna be stupid high for 3d tvs at first.

Actually if you read that link they claim the price difference insn't going to be much. And for all of us PS3 owner's we get yet another bonus.

Yep love my sony's. I dont really care if I watch regular tv in 3D but I would love to watch movies that way. I mean wouldn't it be nice to watch 3D movies on a 120 inch screen at home.

It pisses me off.

My cheap ass held out this long to go ahead and get a Blu Ray player... I havent been buying any new movies for 2 years because I was waiting for Blu Ray and HD DVD to finally figure out what the hell was going on, and then for Blu Ray to come out with its updates and become more affordable.

SO now... not that I finally have a blu ray player... its outdated.

and now... now that 1080P TV are quite affordable.... there is no point in going out and buying one because they are already outdated.

By the time I am ready to buy these 3D TVs,... they will probably have 3D Tvs out that DONT need stupid glasses... then I will need to wait more.

No but now that the 3D will be available the only way to get that feature is to purchase new equipment unless you have a PS3 then you will at least be able to watch movies in 3D

Yep, nobody really caters to 3-D yet, it's going to take at least a year or two before the idea really gets running. Right now, it's nothing more than a gimmick to own.

And unlike when 1080p and blueray came out, it's going to take a longer time to get this idea off the ground because of the whole economy downturn, people will just simply wait until it's cheaper

exactly...no one is gonna cash out 5k to drop on a 3d tv right now especially when there is no content yet. and i think its a good idea to let blu ray mainstream first then go into 3d.

Isn't it going to end up just like HD were everything has to be reformatted for 3D??? like HD???

Has to other wise how will the TV know which plain a scene is in, for or aft ground.

Which like the earlier rant is just icing on the cake, As will 3D be blueray or a whole new thing to keep ya re-buying the same movies over n over.

some people need to have the latest and greatest high tech toys, regardless of whether it makes sense or not.


By the way, haven't TV's been capable of 3D for a number of years now?
