Both, but likely a lot more Z/28 engines than crate motors.
Interesting... I wonder if higher volume means the price for a Z28 can come down...

They're hand built motors, you're paying for the same amount of specialized labor no matter the volume. There might be a minor part cost reduction but the volume increase wouldn't be enough for drastic changes. The beans counters might save a couple bucks but someone writing a check for a Z28 would never notice.

Edit: Just realized you probably meant the new LT1, we need to see how expensive it is as a crate motor first. There's a lot of tech packed into it, plus they may convert to dry sump for this application thus bringing the price back up.
