Does anyone have the part number for the plastic 2 piece fasteners on the heat extractor? I broke one when taking it off to paint it. Thanks.

How do those fastners come apart that hold the two pieces together? Are they threaded or?

Sorry, I don't have the exact fastener part number... I noticed they use these in the trunk for some of the panels as well. I believe some of the parts web sites like GMpartsdirect, etc may have an exploded view of this extractor or for the panels in the trunk. If I run across the part number I'll post it here.

I was scared at first to tackle these but they are incredibly easy to work with. Use a small flat head screwdriver or plastic panel pry bar to gently 'lift' the round center tab about a 1/4 inch, then use your fingers to pull the whole fastener out around the outer edge of the fastener.

Essentially the center piece clicks in flush to hold the whole fastener in place. There are no threads involved. Hope that helps...

Cool man! You'll have to post pictures of your work so we can see the different variations out there.

Try this part number with your local or online source: 11571159. That is what comes up in my estimating database as a retainer.

Nice idea to switch on with a flick of a switch in heavy, middle of summer traffic, or even after a hard run and slowing down.... but man loud lil bugger ain't it?!

Also, it technically impedes airflow due to mass restriction by design, so I must ask, does the electric fan's CFM rate, exceed the air flow rate through the hood vent by default, if the Camaro travels at its operational top speed?

I don't run the rain gutter since I don't drive mine in the rain. So like Cookie Monster...mine has LED's! (By the way, I installed them on his too!) LOL.
