Official Hypertech Programmer Thread

With the new release of the Hypertech Programmer for our 3.6L V6 Camaro, some of you including myself have jumped on board and ordered the tuner.

I'm making this thread so when we start getting them in hand, everyone can come here to discuss ways to get the most power from this tune, and what type of settings they are using.

Looking forward to seeing how this performs for everyone!

This looks soo promising! One question I have is; how well does this hide the tune if we reset to factory defaults and need to take the Camaro in for warrenty work?

Once it's tuned they will always know the only option I see if getting a second computer and keep the factory one incase you have to go to the dealership ( you could do this with the 4th Gen's not sure about the 5th Gens)

Do you know this for a fact, or are you guessing? Cause that's not what people have been saying about the V6 computer. I've read over and over that the V6 computer does not have a "tune counter" (or something like that) and if you flash back to stock, the fact that it was ever changed is undetectable; this is in contrast to the computer on the V8s, which knows how many times it's been tuned, and therefore even if you flash back to stock, the fact that it had been tuned is detectable.

To be clear, I *don't* know anything about this for a fact. I only know what I've been reading on Camaro5, and it's not the same as what you just said. You might, however, know something others don't. =)

I have heard the same thing . GM wasn't concerned with the V6 so there is no worries . This even came from a local dealer tech but as stated "No" proof on writing.

The Hypertech programmer will store your cars information to the device. Your device is then set to only work with your vehicle a lone. Then you program your car to whatever settings you desire. In the case that you would like to get rid of the tune, the device flashes your computer back to stock as it was in the beginning. The only other way they would know, is if something is still seen by the computer that it was ever tuned, but I do not think that the V6 stores that information once the tune is removed, and set back to stock.
