6) Off-Limit Discussions — There are a few topics for which we have zero tolerance policy based on past experience or simply the nature of the topic. They are: Politics (automotive-related regulations discussions are allowed), Religion, Pornography, Law Enforcement-Bashing, and Street Racing. Why do we have so many rules? Geez folks, it kinda feels like we're back in grade school and the teachers are scolding us over petty stuff. Being politically correct these days, and just stating your opinion can get you fired or kicked out of the local country club.

What have we become as a country where we can't even say anything anymore?

Sorry for the rant ...

Did he ever actually say did he get a ticket or just pulled over??

If just pulled over I have no problem with that at all. If he got a ticket for 3 mph over then yeah I have a big problem with that.

Because it's privately owned and stops all the fights and trash talking.

No way would a cop write a ticket for 3 mph over. Fight the ticket, even the judge would say WTF???

I'd file a complaint if something that ridiculous ever happened. That would obviously be Harassment.

I got pulled over one nite, 2am, local jerk macho cop. First he followed me, right on my bumper, definitely tailgating me, for about a mile in a two lane 50 mph zone.

I'm certain he could see my radar detector completely lit up. I kept it at 50 exactly. Then I see the blue lights, so I pull over. He asked "do you know why I pulled you over" and I said "well I definitely wasn't speeding".

He then said "well you sure came into that rotary fast". To which I responded "Really"? Then he said I was driving on the "Fog Line".

I said "what the heck is that". After he explained I said I thought I was closer to the center line.

His next comment let me know instantly that I was screwed. He said "ARE YOU CALLING ME A LIAR".

At that instance I knew he was just a macho jerk. It happens, once in awhile somebody wants to push you around. Then his buddy, State Trooper pulled up, they shoot the breeze for a couple minutes, the State Trooper took off and after fifteen minutes or so he sent me on my way. Thankfully No ticket.

That's the only time I've ever run into a cop with a bad attitude.

Uh it's been a rule long before you joined. Abide or leave, pretty simple.

Yeah it's not used much anymore. It's called the fog line because in real heavy fog you are supposed to use that line as your lane marker and not the center line. It helps keep vehicles further apart in bad fog.

Yeah that was a new one to me too. The road I was on runs along the Cape Cod Canal. So fog is an issue once in awhile, but that was the first time I ever heard the term Fog Line.

Petty excuse to pull me over, especially since I though I was closer to the center line. I figured since it was around 2 am he was bored and who knows, lots of drug dealers around nowadays. Coulda used that as an excuse to just check me out, drugs/alcohol.

Once he saw all was good, he seemed disappointed, he let me go. Fog Line, that's a first.
