DSX Flex Fuel kit installed.

I'm getting ready to switch to ethanol and the first step was to install the FF sensor so I can read the ethanol content. I'm sure there's a ton of you guys that run this kit on the SS, and I just wanted to make sure everything looks ok with my install.

I'm not crazy about how the sensor is crammed in there with the other hose routed on top of it, but it seems to be the only way. Is this how yours looks?

I pinned the white wire to the empty pin 40.
I enabled the Flex Fuel sensor in the tune (no math yet) and flashed the car.
Now in the scanner I can see ethanol content of 3.1 percent.

Am I good to go?

I also used some heater hose to cover my fuel line near the headers.

It's a pretty simple physical install. The tuning gets a little gnarly.

When you get to tuning, do share what you did.

I'm still working on my DSX FF tune.

Cold and hot starts need work. It cranks too long before it fires up.

If you are running pump gas I would expect the E content to be closer to 10%

Mine is usually 9.x % with 93 octane Exon pump gas.

If you're using HP Tuners, feel free to email your tune file to dave@dsxtuning.com. I'd be happy to check it out. If the sensor isn't activated completely, it won't read properly.

Thanks Dave, I'll send it over. I chose the virtual sensor type, maybe I should have gone with "sensor". I used "virtual' when I installed your kit in my buddies 2015 camaro, and his works fine. Maybe 2011 and 2015 differ.

You need more fuel pump.

Look at your duty cycle at a mere 1,100 rpm's....

Ahh. That's right. I had the same issue now that I recall.

I've used the BETA stable version ever since.

Download BETA version here: https://www.hptuners.com/downloads/

Once you do that, download your current tune off the car and mod it through the BETA from that point forward.

I’m still on 3.1 or 3.3 i forget. Beta’s scare me. Maybe I’ll try 4.0 first. Am I going to lose all my scanner layouts again, like when 3.0 came out?
