AN APPARENT CASE OF CAMARO ENVY - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Ok, so something happened to me over the weekend that is still cracking me up so I need to share it with all my Camaro comrades. It won't be quite as hilarious without actually seeing it but I'm sure you will be able to get the picture.
So I am out in the Camaro and I pull up behind a few cars in the left hand turn lane at a red light. As I'm coming to a complete stop I look over to my right and there is a black Mustang GT with some guy in his "I'm a bad ass" driving stance. Just about that time my car catches his eye and he spins around and begins googling it up and down. He very quickly becomes hypnotized and is just staring out the window at it. I think he probably even had a bit of drool dripping from the corner of his wide open mouth (I know this because it happens to me occasionally if I look at it too long). Before long the light turns green for his lane and the 3 or 4 cars ahead of him proceed through the intersection. Mr. Mustang is still an a trance staring out his side window at my car until the truck behind him lays on the horn and startled the crap out of him. BLAH HA HA HA!!! He jumped so bad I think he may have even bumped his head on the liner. Realizing he had been caught in a Camaro envy moment he stomps on the gas and takes off. All weekend long, every time I thought about it I couldn't help but smirk.

Is googling and driving against the law like texting and driving? What did you expect, he was in a Ford.

why was he Googling your car? Did he not know what it was? What did he type into the search engine?

the guy was obviously admiring your car, he has nice taste....you are reacting to it all the wrong way. Some people stare to admire, doesn't mean they are envious. My neighbor stare at my cars all the time, he has a ZR1.

It is titled "apparent" not "obvious"although you may have a point because those who are envious usually pretend not to look until you turn your back or walk away but, I dont take it too seriously anyway I just thought it was funny the way it happened. Besides....I really don't think I am reacting to it all the wrong way because either way, envy or admiration tells me I'm doing something right and puts a smile on my face.

Lol funny story. I ran into a 5.0 this weekend the driver didnt seem to like the camaro but his gf was smiling at my car.
