I put 20s on mine went to my dealer and asked them to change it, and they wouldn't. They stated if I put my 18s back on and get into an accident going over 118, they would be liable so they wouldn't do it. They only way you can do it, is you get a custom tune and remove the limiter, which will void your warranty. Why do you need to go that fast? If you get caught by the police you will be get a serious ticket or go to jail. Not worth it IMO.

My car is a 2LT non-RS with 19" wheels. I know for a fact I'm not limited to 118. Edit: I forgot to mention I don't have a tune on my car.

There are other threads about this. As others have said it has to do with the tires from the factory.

I know its not engine based but I didn't realize the 19's came with pzero's. My bad.

i have the 20'' ss rims with pirelli tires on a ls with no package, so how do I get it tuned so i can go past that limiter

On my 2011 LS3 center screen shows speed climb 154, 155 then "speed limited by governor" instead of a speed. Quotation is close to verbatim. I was mainly watching the road!

v6 with 18" = 119, with 20" Pzeros = 155
v8 = 155
ZL1 = 180 (convertible = 155)

OP you can have it tuned out but it's not like you'll ever need to go that fast. It's hard to even find an opportunity to do so.
