Wheels - What to do?
Thought I’d get the opinion of some fellow owners. The wheels that came on my 2013, well………I “like” them. The problem is I don’t “love” them, ya know?
So after a month or so of debating I’m thinking about changing them out. I’ve gone thru countless pages of wheels on the forums here and WOW are there a lot of choices. I happen to think that the lines of the Camaro require a wheel that is simple and kinda beefy/muscular. At least to some extent. I have 3 scenarios that I’m pondering over. I thought a poll would be nice and also some comments. POLL is up above. 1. Keep the 2013 Wheels and call it a day. 2. Swap out to the previous 20” wheel which IMO looks so much better than the 2013’s. Again, I do “like” the 2013’s 3. Scrap the OEM ideas and get the Niche Concave, steel with polished lip. I realized it’s up to me but I do honestly appreciate feedback. I’m not looking for anyone to “make” my mind up. It’s just more info for me to consider. BTW, thanks to the handful of members that I’ve been talking to via PM’s in regards to wheels and other topics. You guys are great! Nice bunch of people on this forum. Forgot to mention the color of my Camaro is Summit White. Thanks Last edited by Gruv3451; 05-17-2013 at 11:54 AM. |

I kind of felt the same way when I ordered my car. I liked the new style, but I like the old style better. I did stick with the 2013 style, and they have grown on me. I really like them now and am glad that I didn't get the old style. Every Camaro you see has the old style on it, (keep in mind, I really like the old style, no bashing here). I still haven't seen any with the new style on the road yet.
The only thing that will replace mine is either real or replica 1LE 10-spokes........ for the right price of course.

Should've posted in the wheel/tire section.

Actually, they are 1LE wheels since they come on the 1LE. If I said ZL1, it could be inferred that I want either the black 10-spokes (1LE wheels) or the silver 5-spokes (ZL-1 only).

I really like the stock 2010-2012 oem wheels suits the car really good and has that nice beefy look to them. 10/10 for me.

like the '13 style now, as well as the '10. I'd swap you if you were closer

Here is another option. I'm having my 2013 stock polished aluminum wheels go through the PVD (physical vapor deposition) process. I'm having them done in a bright chrome look but you can also go with black chrome. If you don't know about this, PVD is better than chrome in so much as PVD will flex as the wheel flexes (as opposed to cracking like chrome does). It also will not pit after a few years as chrome does. If you put a chrome wheel next to a PVD wheel you can notice a difference. However if you put one by your front wheel and the other by your back wheel you cannot tell a difference. (unofficial test involving friends and family not knowing which wheel was which). My wheels should be back in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait.
