Ordering a new 2014 SS Convertible...

After owning Mustangs ('67 Shelby GT500, '70 Notchback), a Pontiac (Trans Am) now it appears I'm on the verge of ordering a Camaro (my 15 year old self would kick my behind....).

A few questions for you guys:

- I have gone to the Chevy site and there seems to be no way to see what these other rim offerings are, would love to see what they are before I throw this order in.

- Any word of caution? Any suggestions on what is a must have option?

- Color wise I want the BRM with the full length silver stripes and the blue accent for the interior.

Again any suggestions would be appreciated.

wow, 67 shelby.....anyway, depends on what you want, for example. i went for the least optioned car but did add npp exhaust, short throw shifter and touch screen radio, but the option list is in the brochure which can be found online if you don't have one handy

Wayne, thanks for the response. Gone through all the options, just wondering of there is something that is a must have on a Camaro (never owned a Chevy...).

long story short, took my mom's trailblazer in for a recall and could'nt find a ride so i hung out and noticed a 14 ss that met my standards(did'nt want all the fluff cause i'm old school) the only deal was it was black, the prettiest color out but my gravel drive would be a nightmare, so i ordered the exact car in red hot over the phone, then added the few things i wanted without going to the next level

If you're getting a stick shift, NPP is an absolute must. Not only does it sound fantastic for a stock exhaust, but the quad tips look amazing (can't get this option with auto trans).

If you get the 1SS package be warned that the base stereo is garbage. I wish I had the BA system.

Oh, and if you haven't already been over to the convertible forum, I suggest asking around to see if you can find out if the soft top issues are still present with the '14's.

The Recaro seats, you cannot order them later so you may want to order them upfront.
Even if you don't really like them, you can sell them on here... There will be a line of buyers waiting who will give you their nearly new seats as well.

Seems like you got a good color scheme in mind.
...
Absolute must is the NNP exhaust, but it's only available for manuals. Not sure if you're trying to go that route. Recaro seats are a great option as well, but I don't think they are available on a vert.

I also posted this on the convertible side for you.

Go to the GM Accessories Zone: http://www.chevyaccessories.com/,

Under the heading "Cars" select "Camaro", then, on the right lower side of the page, you'll see the heading "Wheels". Each of the descriptions is a link to a pic of each of the wheels. I uploaded all of the pics and descriptions below.

I strongly agree about the dual mode exhaust (NPP). As for the top issues, GM finally figured it out around Jan/Feb of 2013 for the last of the 2012's and beyond. I ordered my 2013 in April of 2012 and got it three months later. Almost 2 years and no top issues.
